Suzuki SX4 Fuel Cell Vehicle Concept
Suzuki has waited for the perfect event to unveil their SX4 FCV – and Tokyo’s Motor Show might just be the place to do it. The first Suzuki Fuel Cell Vehicle (that’s what FCV stands for, in case you were still head-scratching) has been in the concept phase for over a year. The auto maker finishes a little behind in the “lithium-ion battery hybrid plug-in car” race: as Toyota, Honda and other GM models have been pimping Green cars since last year. So, what’s the hold up?

Money, as usual, can be blamed as part of the SX4’s delays in production. But fear not, Suzuki & General Motors have it at the ready. The Suzuki SX4 FCV is powered by a rechargeable ion-battery pack. Part of the vehicles recharge comes from brake energy regeneration. The car will be popping up at the 2009 Tokyo Auto Show and later this year on a Japanese road near you.
